Getting ready for Halloween - Here is our Pirate Pumpkin! Thanks Grandma S.For our 11 year anniversary I gave Jer a trip to D.C. to visit his sister Lindsey and her cute family. We had so much fun playing in the nations capitol with our new nephew (and his mom and dad)

September

Well we found another Tarantula in our yard and although Jeremy and I hate bugs, we knew the kids would get a kick out of it. So....we brought it in the house and put it in a cage for the kids to play with. However, we did not notice that there was a hole on top of the cage, now we have a Tarantula loose in our house!!

We have now learned all there is to know about Tarantula bites and habits (thank you google) and even though they are virtually harmless it does not change the fact that there is a GIANT Spider somewhere in our house!!!!
The 3 older kids are enjoying another year of soccer - of course Jeremy is coaching all three of their teams, and I am coaching Ashlee's cheer team. So our Saturdays are very busy, but we really enjoy being involved in all the kids things - it is so fun to watch them improve their skills and have fun.

August 2009

First Day of School! Andrew is in Kindergarten, and Ashlee is now in Third Grade - My kids are growing up so fast.

Andrew turned 6! We had an awesome birthday party that I have to admit I was opposed to at the start. Andrew wanted to have a junk food party with a food fight, and I said no at first. But, "Save the Day" Dad helped pull it off - we slung pudding, yogurt, whip cream, chocolate sauce, and every variety of messiness at eachother. We were such a slimy mess but it was a blast!!
We had planned on getting Andrew his own motorcycle too since Taylor got one for his birthday in June, but Andrew insisted on getting a Chinese Dwarf Hamster instead..."Fine, it's your birthday, get what you want" we said :)

July Part Two

I finally got to go on my hot air balloon ride that my sweet family gave me for my birthday. It was really cool. We flew over Steamboat Springs Colorado and enjoyed the beautiful mountains as our scenery - Kinda cool flying with no steering. While in Steamboat we did all the "must do's"...we went horse back riding and to the rodeo.
Made a few trips down the Alpine Slide, played a couple rounds of miniature golf.
Hiked in the mountains. You just can't beat the Colorado Mountains for a good hike - we try in Texas, but fail in comparison.
Then back in Franktown, Colorado (Searleville) we took a turn riding on the tire swing Uncle Sean has tied to the top of his Fire Truck Ladder - Yup, Uncle Sean has his very own Fire Truck, just for fun -why not?

July

SHARK FISHING!!! for the next 8 weeks Jer will go Shark fishing almost every week. It is best to go when the Shrimp Boats are out - you follow the shrimp boats and the shark are everywhere! It is incredible to see how many shark there are swimming around you.The one the kids caught was not quite the same as Jer's, but just as exciting to reel in!

We took a trip to Colorado to visit all the Fam and see the mountains. Couldn't miss a quick swing in Grandmas Back Yard.We took the kids to Cave of the Winds in Colorado Springs. Andrew was fascinated by the rock formations and crystals.

In Steamboat Springs we enjoyed the company of the Searle extended family with plenty of Camp Fires and bike rides and total cousin overload :) It's great to be part of a big family!
mmmmm Smoore's!

June

Taylor turned 4!!!! He had a great birthday and got his very own motorcycle and he takes very good care of it :)

Our cousins moved from Arizona to San Antonio and we are soooo happy to have them close by! Welcome Bret, Arianne, Cole, Dallin, Ellie, and Little Man Kyle - We Love you.
Aunt Carolyn came for one last visit before heading back to Hawaii - We always love to have hugs and kisses from Aunt Carolyn!

May

May was a fun month...highlights include Father Son Campout, and the Daddy Daughter Ball.

Ashlee was called on stage during the Shamu Show at Sea World - Pretty Cool!!!

Emilee's new Mural! Our little princess now has her own castle and private reading Tower - So Sweet - Thank you Jeremy for all your hard work making this wall a reality!

April

Ashlee and I had the chance to go to Utah for General Conference. It was so special. When I turned 8 my Mom took me to conference and it has always been a special memory of mine, and I wanted to do the same with my daughter. We stayed at Little America, we went shopping, and got new hair cuts. But the best part was just being at Temple Square and touring all the sites. Ashlee picked out a pair of new scriptures and we had a great time talking about the church and learning about church history. Conference was really special. It was so impressive to experience conference in person. I hope Ashlee had as good a time as I did. It was such a great time to be with her and share my testimony with her in such a great atmosphere.

Happy Easter!! Plenty of Easter Egg hunts and lots of candy!!!

March

I am 30!!! I have to say, I am glad to be 30! I am enjoying my family and the life we have! My great husband surprised me with a Hot Air Balloon ride for my big day! (We were grounded due to wind, but we will try it again when the weather cooperates :) My sweet children made their "specialty" Chocolate covered strawberries - they make them look like tuxedos and they are very yummy!

We went to Logan, UT for Spring Break, and spent some much needed time with Great Grandma and Grandad Anderson. We had soooo much fun - we went skiing, snowmobiling, built snowmen, tasted some Aggie Ice Cream and had some of Grandma's great cooking. I sure do love Logan. We hit all of our favorite spots from college with the kids.

Jeremy had a few guy trips too. He had two ski trips to Colorado with his brothers, and a Ski weekend in Park City with a good friend from Dallas. He sure got his fill of snow, and had a great time.

February

Ashlee is 8 !!!

What a great age - first we had an awesome birthday party at Club Qua in Downtown Austin - they opened the club during the day for the kids to get their groove on - it was a blast. She got a new motor scooter and a Hedgehog that she has named Kayli.

Then....

Her baptism - The highlight of her year - she has been SO excited for this day, and it has been her one focus in the past months. She was so happy and we were so grateful to the Grandparents and Friends who joined her for her special day- Thank you

January

Jeremy took some time to check out the Beautiful Colorado Snow. He had a great time visiting his Family and taking some time to enjoy the slopes.

Emilee had her Adenoids taken out and Ear Tubes put in - She is feeling much better and we are enjoying her new snot-free smile.

December

CHRISTMAS!!! - I love this time of year!

We went to this really cool place called "Main Street Bethlehem" It is just in the middle of a small town here in TX, and is only open 2 weeks a year, the rest of the year it just sits there closed. It was so cool. It is set up just like you would imagine Bethlehem would be and the actors stay in true character the whole time - it was a great way to help visualize the circumstances of Christ's birth and a great way to tell the story to the kids in a live story book.
